Aerodynamics

Today in class, our assignment was to make a glider that would be able to hold an egg. Our objective was to have the glider glide down when thrown from the school roof and still keep the egg from breaking. Our success was mostly protecting the egg, as the gliding factor wasn't as important towards success. It was just a helping factor. For this task, we were given a sheet of metro newspaper, 25 straws, and a table length strip of tape. The way we build ours, we made an arrow shaped glider that had the eggs attached to the mid front bottom of the glider surrounded by straws to create a basket for the egg. We use some of the other straws to build a structure of the glider which would be covered by the newspaper to catch the wind.
